We need your voice. The Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council is creating a PSA to encourage adult Vermonters with disabilities to vote this election season. But we’re missing something very important… your voice. Literally.

how you can help:

1) Find a recording device or software. Tip! Most smart phones and tablets can record.

2) Practice yourself saying, “I have a disability and I vote.” OR “I’m from [TOWN], I have a disability, and I vote.” Do not say your name, party affiliation, or who you’re voting for.

3) Record yourself and stay within five (5) seconds. The program will tell you how long your recording is and you can always re-record if you need to. Exceptions may be made.

4) Email us your voice! You can use a computer or smart device. Short audio files will be under 3 megabytes—the perfect size to fit in our inbox. Videos are too big.

Sounds great! Our goal is to keep the full PSA within 30 seconds or fewer. This means we can’t use everyone's voice (but we would if we could). If your audio file is picked we will ask you to sign a media release.

Important stuff. Email us at vtddc@vermont.gov or call us at (802) 828-1310 if you have any questions. Your recording must be sent to us by Monday, October 15th.
