All projects and activities work towards the completion of VTDDC's 5-Year State Plan Goals and Objectives.
VTDDC, partners, and grantees seek to change Vermont for the better for people with developmental disabilities. The Five-Year Plan guides this work, with an emphasis on helping underserved communities, supporting self-advocacy, and fostering systems change.
Project ideas are developed by the Council's Program Committee, with input from the full Council. The Council often seeks community partners to implement projects by issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP). Non-profit organizations whose mission is aligned with the values of the federal DD Act may apply for these grants. All proposals are reviewed by the Program Committee and voted on by the full Council. "In-house Projects" may also be undertaken by Council staff with a project budget awarded by the Council.
