Story Tellers Wanted!

Calling all Vermont writers, singers, comedians, and poets who live in our disability community… SHARE YOUR STORY!

The Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council invites creative voices to share how the pandemic showed them they were strong and capable.
Our Story Social theme is “I am resilient.”

We wish for every story to be told, but time is limited. Ten (10) story tellers will be invited to perform at the much-anticipated “From Our House To Yours, an evening of story telling” at the Vermont State House on Thursday, April 20th. All are welcome to attend!

You do not need to know how to read or write to participate.

Submission rules:

  1. Stories must stay within 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Stories must describe how Covid impacted you, your family, and/or the community, and be based on true events.
  3. Submit your story in any one of the following formats: (1) a written script; (2) a video; or (3) an audio recording. Our Review Team may consider other types of media.
  4. Send your stories to: vtddc@vermont.gov

SUBMISSION DEADLINE is Friday, March 31, 2023.
