Story-Telling Contest

Story telling contest

What's your story?

Calling all Vermont writers, singers, comedians, and poets who live in our disability community…

The Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council wants your stories!

VTDDC is hosting a story-telling contest to celebrate voices from the disability. The theme is “Be the Change.”

Contest winners will be invited to perform at the much-anticipated “From Our House To Yours, an evening of story-telling” at the Vermont State House, February 20th.

You do not need to know how to read or write to participate.

Contest Rules:

  1. Stories must stay within 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Stories must describe a way in which disability has impacted you, your family, and/or the community, and be based on true events.
  3. Submit your story in any one of the following formats: (1) a written script; (2) a video; or (3) an audio recording.

Our Review Team may consider other types of media.
